RealMed Receives 5th Consecutive EHNAC Accreditation
Accreditation ensures compliance with industry-established
standards for all health data
processing and transactions
INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- RealMed, a leader in web-based revenue cycle
management solutions for healthcare professionals, announces today that for the fifth
consecutive period it achieved full accreditation with the Healthcare Network Accreditation
Program (HNAP) from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC).
First accredited in 2001, RealMed has maintained full accreditation at each subsequent two
year evaluation interval. EHNAC's HNAP accreditation recognizes excellence in health data
processing and transactions, and indicates compliance with industry-established standards and
HIPAA regulations.
Through the consultative review process, EHNAC evaluated RealMed in areas of privacy
measures, systems availability and security infrastructure. In addition, EHNAC reviewed the
organization's process of managing and transferring protected health information and
determined that the organization meets or exceeds all EHNAC criteria and industry standards.
Through completion of the rigorous accreditation process, the organization demonstrates to its
constituents, adherence to strict standards and participation in the comprehensive, objective
evaluation of its business.
Scott Herbst, Senior Vice President stated, "The accreditation process is nearly a year-long
effort of self assessment, policy review, and metric measurement incorporating the
recommendations of prior audits and our own internal process improvements. Our stellar
EHNAC score reflects our adherence to redundancy throughout our systems and processes,
and that means our clients experience maximum uptime 24x7, 365 days of the year. Our clients
rewarded us for our efforts by ranking RealMed 'Best in KLAS' for medical claims and
clearinghouse services. KLAS is a prestigious research organization monitoring the
performance of vendors in the heath care software, service, and medical device industries."
"The biennial program ensures we consistently maintain and improve our internal processes.
For our clients, EHNAC accreditation demonstrates our commitment to compliance with HIPAA
regulations," said T.E. "Raj" Rajagopal, Chief Operating Officer.
"Through continued EHNAC HNAP accreditation, RealMed once again demonstrated their
commitment to ensuring the security and privacy of health data processing and transactions for
its customers," says Lee Barrett, executive director of EHNAC. "As an early adopter of EHNAC
accreditation, we are honored to have RealMed among the select group of HNAP-accredited
organizations and congratulate them on this achievement."
